RTX Invests Millions in New ATC Radars

RTX is investing $26.5 million to expand its Florida facility to accelerate the production of upgraded commercial aviation radars. This investment is part of a larger $438 million FAA contract awarded to RTX subsidiary Collins Aerospace, aiming to replace over 600 outdated air traffic control (ATC) radars by 2028. The new Condor Mk3 and ASM-XR radars are a key component of the FAA’s broader modernization initiative, which seeks to improve situational awareness, reliability, and resilience for air traffic controllers.
