Abstract generation in progress

Attorney General Ken Paxton announced a major legal victory against Live Nation Entertainment Inc. and its subsidiary, Ticketmaster LLC, with a New York federal court finding them liable for monopolizing the ticketing and live entertainment industries. Paxton’s 2024 lawsuit, part of a multistate coalition, argued that Live Nation leveraged its post-merger dominance to stifle competition, limit consumer choice, and inflate ticket prices through excessive fees. Remedies and penalties are yet to be determined, with Texas advocating for restitution and breaking up Live Nation’s monopolies to benefit consumers.
